NEONATAL ICU

Recent Activities
MNA Visit in SICHN
Member of National Assembly (MNA) from MQM-Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Abu Bakr, visited Children Hospital Karachi(SICHN). He was welcomed by Executive Director Professor Syed Jamal Raza, Chief Operating Officer Dr. Shahid Raza, and HR Manager Yasir Rafiq Khan, and also visited all the departments of the hospital. He requested for the cleanliness and lighting of the surroundings of the hospital. He instructed the Director of DMC, Mr. Wasim Shamim, and other DMC officers present there to immediately resolve the issues.
SICHN Inauguration
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday formally inaugurated the 200-bed Sindh Institute of Child Health and Neonatology (SICHN) Children Hospital Korangi, which has a 28-bed paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and 52-bed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
The children hospital is equipped with 21 ventilators, 26 high-flow ventilations, and 20 phototherapy lights. The hospital has 41-bed general paediatric wards and it has an out-patient department (OPD) to cater to 350 patients per day.
Health Minister Visit at SICHN
Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, the Health Minister of Sindh, visited Children Hospital Korangi #5 to review the healthcare facilities provided to the children. During her visit, she interacted with the Executive Direcotr, medical staff and inquired about the available resources and infrastructure. The minister also visited the wards and checked on the health condition of the admitted children. She emphasized the need for improving the healthcare system and providing better healthcare services to the children.

Sindh Institute of Child Health and Neonatology (SICHN) is a over-arching body established under the administrative control of the Health Department of Government of Sindh to look after the matters of child health in the province of Sindh.
Under the umbrella of SICHN, we aim to develop hospitals and health facilities in the field of Pediatrics and Neonatology. We would be developing specialized services like Neonatology, Pediatric Intensive Care, and other sub-specialties like Neurology, Oncology, Endocrinology, Gastro-enterology. We also aim to develop various specialties under Pediatric Surgery, like urology, neonatal surgery, GI, Orthopedics, Plastics and Neurosurgery.
