About Us
Sindh Institute of Child Health and Neonatology (SICHN) is a over-arching body established under the administrative control of the Health Department of Government of Sindh to look after the matters of child health in the province of Sindh.
Under the umbrella of SICHN, we aim to develop hospitals and health facilities in the field of Pediatrics and Neonatology. We would be developing specialized services like Neonatology, Pediatric Intensive Care, and other sub-specialties like Neurology, Oncology, Endocrinology, Gastro-enterology. We also aim to develop various specialties under Pediatric Surgery, like urology, neonatal surgery, GI, Orthopedics, Plastics and Neurosurgery.
In addition to developing new hospitals, SICHN will also support the already existing health facilities in Sindh which are dealing with pediatric and neonatal care and will establish a network of these centres to improve their performance.
There is also a great need for pediatric rehabilitation facilities all across Sindh, where we will establish such facilities or collaborate with institutes providing such services.
As a degree awarding body, the institute has a mandate of developing the most important asset of human resource at all levels involved in child health including nursing, technicians, paramedics and doctors training.

SICHN strive towards the reduction of infant mortality, to overcome problems of malnutrition, immunization, reducing deaths from communicable diseases such as diarrhea and pneumonia, reducing the burden of Non communicable diseases (NCD) in children and aim to achieve the goals of Sustainable Development Goals.

Upgrade and modernize the existing facilities to ensure that the institute is equipped with the latest technology and equipment to provide high-quality care to children and newborns.
Expanding services
Expand the range of services offered by the institute to include specialized care for children with complex and chronic conditions. This will include the development of dedicated clinics for conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and genetic disorders.
Building a strong research program
Develop a robust research program focused on improving the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of child health and neonatology conditions. This will involve recruiting leading researchers and building collaborations with other research institutions.
Training of child health and neonatology
Develop a comprehensive training program for medical students, residents, and fellows to ensure that the institute is producing well-trained and highly skilled child health and neonatology professionals.
Improving access to care
Develop and implement strategies to improve access to care for children and newborns in remote and underserved areas of Sindh. This will include building partnerships with local healthcare providers and developing telemedicine and mobile health services.
Developing a strong community
Develop a strong community outreach program to raise awareness about child health and neonatology issues and to educate parents and caregivers about how to keep children healthy.

Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Shahid Raza is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Sindh Institute of Child Health and Neonatology. He is a medical professional with a wealth of experience in healthcare management and administration.
Dr. Syed Rehan Ali
HOD Neonatal ICU
Dr. Syed Rehan Ali is the Head of the Department (HOD) of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Children Hospital, Korangi # 5. He is a highly skilled and experienced neonatologist, specializing in the care of newborns who are critically ill, premature or have other medical complications.

HOD Pediatric ICU
Dr. Anwar-ul-Haq is the Head of the Department (HOD) of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Children Hospital, Korangi # 5. He is a highly experienced and skilled pediatrician with specialized training in critical care medicine.
